Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has launched the hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) version of its flagship Land Cruiser SUV, bringing electrification to one of the brand’s longest-running and most recognizable nameplates.
Retail sales of the Land Cruiser HEV began on June 24, with the vehicle joining Toyota’s growing lineup of electrified models in the country.
The hybrid variant was first previewed during the 10th Philippine International Motor Show and marks the first time the Land Cruiser has been offered locally with a hybrid powertrain.
Unlike the diesel-powered Land Cruiser 300 currently sold in the Philippines, the new HEV version uses a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 gasoline engine paired with an electric motor.
The gasoline engine produces 415 PS while the electric motor adds 49 PS, delivering a combined output of 464 PS.
Toyota said the Land Cruiser HEV also comes with electric power steering, replacing the hydraulic system used in previous versions, and receives minor exterior updates, including Aero with Jet-Black Garnish.
The launch forms part of Toyota’s broader strategy of offering multiple powertrain technologies, including conventional internal combustion, hybrid, battery electric, and other electrified options.
The Land Cruiser traces its origins to 1951 and has built a reputation globally as an off-road vehicle known for durability and reliability.
The model was introduced in the Philippines in 1990 with the arrival of the Land Cruiser 80 series and has since developed a strong following among SUV enthusiasts.

“Customers who want to experience the legendary heritage and proven performance of the Land Cruiser while having access to Toyota’s hybrid technology will find this car to be the perfect choice as their partner on the road.”
The Land Cruiser HEV, with a retail price of P6,945,000, will be available in Attitude Black Mica, Silver Metallic, Gray Metallic, and Precious White Pearl.
