Epson has expanded its industrial dye-sublimation printer lineup in Southeast Asia with the launch of the SureColor F20030, a 76-inch model designed for high-volume textile production.
The printer uses eight PrecisionCore MicroTFP printheads arranged horizontally, twice the four-printhead configuration of its predecessor, the SureColor F11030.
Epson said the new model can print at speeds of up to 306 square meters per hour at a resolution of 600 by 600 dpi.
The launch comes as textile manufacturers and print-on-demand providers increasingly shift to digital printing to accommodate shorter production runs, customized designs and tighter delivery schedules.
Citing its Digital Textile Printing Trends in Southeast Asia report with IDC, Epson said digital dye-sublimation could allow print providers to grow revenue up to eight times faster than traditional screen-printing operations.
The report identified sportswear, homewear, and footwear as key markets for the technology.
The SureColor F20030 uses Epson UltraChrome DS ink and a bulk supply system equipped with 10-liter ink packs. Its hot-swap function automatically switches to a second pack of the same color when the first is depleted, allowing printing to continue during replacement.
A built-in drying system heats both sides of the transfer media to help cure ink during printing and reduce ink transfer and wrinkling.
The printer also combines an intake fan and media cleaner to limit internal dust buildup and nozzle clogging.
Optional jumbo roll and reel units can carry media loads of up to 300 kilograms, reducing the need for frequent roll changes during extended production runs.
Operators may also replace certain components, including the printhead and anti-drying cap, using the printer’s diagnostic functions. Epson said this could reduce downtime and dependence on service calls.
“As Southeast Asia’s textile printing industry evolves, flexibility, responsiveness and production stability are becoming critical to long-term success,” said Noelle Gonzalez, head of marketing at Epson Philippines.
“With the SC-F20030, we are expanding Epson’s industrial dye-sublimation portfolio to better support businesses managing higher production demands, tighter turnaround expectations and more complex print workflows. It reflects our continued commitment to helping customers improve operational efficiency while advancing more sustainable printing practices.”
