Taiwanese computer maker Acer is expanding into AI servers, smart medical systems, energy solutions, and home appliances as it seeks new sources of growth beyond its core PC business.
The company outlined its diversification strategy as it marked its 50th anniversary and the 10th year of its Acer Day campaign.
Andrew Hou, president of Acer Pan-Asia Pacific, said the company’s growth strategy would focus on four areas: inter-process communication solutions, smart medical technologies, energy solutions, and home appliances under the Acerpure brand.
Acer also plans to expand its enterprise electronics portfolio and develop the market for AI servers under its Altos brand while continuing to invest in its PC operations.
The company reported $2 billion in revenue across the Pan-Asia Pacific region during the first half of 2026, up 17% from a year earlier. India posted revenue growth of 48%, followed by Korea at 41%, and Malaysia at 22%.
In the Philippines, Acer said it held a 25% share of the overall PC market and had led the notebook segment for 20 consecutive years.
Its local market share reached 41% in July 2026, its highest level over the previous 12 months, while the overall market grew by 8%, according to company data.
Acer Philippines is also seeking more business from the education and government sectors. The commercial segment accounted for 46% of the company’s regional business.
Apart from its technology operations, Acer has expanded Acer Day from a marketing campaign into a series of concerts, fitness activities, and other consumer events.
The company has also set targets of using 100% renewable energy by 2030 and achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Its sustainability initiatives include product repair, recycling, and reuse programs.
