GAC rolls out fan activation across PBA, UAAP seasons

GAC Philippines has launched an in-game fan activity at Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) and University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) games as part of its partnership with Cignal TV and TV5.

Called “Front Seat Faces,” the activation invites selected fans to compete in making facial expressions based on everyday driving and commuting situations. The challenges take place during timeouts and quarter breaks in UAAP Season 89 and the PBA Governors’ Cup.

Prompts include reacting to a forgotten laptop before an important presentation, spilling hot coffee on a white shirt, getting caught picking one’s nose at a stoplight, and discovering that a work meeting participant’s microphone is not muted. Participants compete for prizes from GAC Philippines.

The activity is part of the company’s “Go Above Competition” sports marketing campaign, which covers the PBA, UAAP, and Premier Volleyball League (PVL).

GAC Philippines president Calvin Cheng said the initiative aims to give basketball fans another activity to enjoy during games.

“Sports isn’t just about intense competition on the hardwood, it is also about bringing fans together and sharing memorable, joy-filled moments,” Cheng said.

“Through Front Seat Faces, we want to bring a lighter, playful twist to game day while showcasing how GAC vehicles fit seamlessly into every aspect of daily life.”

The company is also displaying vehicles at game venues, allowing attendees to inspect its lineup of electric and hybrid models.

Among the vehicles featured are the AION UT electric hatchback and the GN8 plug-in hybrid multipurpose vehicle. Other models in the lineup include the AION V, E8 HEV, GS4 Max HEV, All-New GN6, and 2026 Emzoom.

GAC Philippines said the activations and vehicle displays will run throughout the basketball season.
