ePLDT Vitro’s 11th data center — Vitro Sta. Rosa — will rise in what is said to be the country’s largest DC campus by far -- a five-hectare PLDT property in the industrial city of Sta. Rosa.
Dubbed “The Hive,” it is said to be the largest operating telco-neutral data center facility in the country, with three floors capable of housing at least 3,000 server racks of up to 45U rack height.
The solution enables local businesses to run AWS cloud services locally within Beeinfotech PH’s “The HIVE” data center while also benefiting from its hosting and telco-neutral services.
The new multi-million facility is operated by Beeinfotech PH, which is being led by industry veteran Reynaldo Huergas, who previously headed data center firm IP Converge before it was bought by PLDT.
Alibaba Cloud said the data center will be constructed in Metro Manila and will bring the company’s total availability zones to 76, spread across 25 regions worldwide.
The transformation programs are set to drive sustainability for the two data centers and likewise make them at par with global data center standards and best practices to cater to the demand of the international market.
With the launch of Go-Qloud, VST ECS Philippines becomes the only distributor in the country to offer data center services especially to companies with data localization or data sovereignty requirements.
