The Philippines has emerged as the most active job market among Southeast Asian countries, having the highest number of employers hiring jobseekers and reducing employees in the past year.

Online job portal Jobstreet by SEEK has revealed the top companies in the country that Filipino jobseekers desire to be employed in, according to its recent Employee Job Happiness Index 2024 survey.

The unemployment rate in the Philippines remains a concern, with 4.2 percent of the population or about 2.18 million Filipinos unemployed in November 2022.

LinkedIn’s Jobs on the Rise list offers a glimpse into emerging trends of the workforce and a resource to navigate a career path with resilience, as well as key areas where businesses will compete for talent.

According to Jobstreet’s internal data and reports, the workforce’s changing behavior comes from their shifting priorities.

As of April 2021, more than 4.14 million Filipinos were jobless – a bleak figure spurred by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Despite being severely affected by the pandemic, the IT-BPO sector remains on top of the heap among industries that are hiring employees for 2021.

Data from online site LinkedIn revealed that the majority of Filipinos believe that having strong connections is important to get ahead in life. However, up to 60 percent believe that they do not have strong enough networks that can help connect them to opportunities.

The jobs will be based in Amazon?s dedicated customer service centers in Cebu and Manila.
