The Department of Science and Technology (DOST)?s water filter technology, a ceramic filter with nano anti-microbial coating, is on display at the ongoing National Science and Technology Week (NSTW) at SMX Convention Center at the Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City.
Developed by DOST?s Industrial Technology Development Institute, the filter, which is lodged in a plastic container, is made of red clay and coated with nano anti-microbial agent to eliminate water-borne microorganisms. It purifies tap water, deep well water and raw water from ponds and springs. It is a more affordable alternative to regular water filters and does not need electricity.
