Huawei recently unveiled Huawei Y9 Prime 2019, which boasts of a low-power consuming chipset, the latest OS version, a high capacity battery, and a triple-camera setup. Then again, the phone’s main draw may very well be its pop-up camera, which can withstand 10 up to 15 kilograms of pressure, as well as automatically slide back in when it senses freefall.
Moreover, the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 does not have the obtrusive notch element, making it an all-screen experience for users. The Y9 Prime 2019’s durability tests from Huawei also confirmed that even after the camera was dropped 100,000 times, there was no damage to structural integrity.
The Huawei Y9 Prime 2019’s screen is a 6.59-inch LCD panel with a resolution of 1080×2340 and a color gamut of 85%. It has a pixel density of 391 pixels per inch (ppi), filters blue light emissions where it passed TÜV Rheinland’s standards for low blue light and photo biological safety, and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. Sensors present on the phone include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, compass/ magnetometer, proximity sensor, and a fingerprint sensor.
The device runs on Huawei’s Emotion UI (EMUI) 9.0 version on top of Android 9 (Pie) and is equipped with 4GB of RAM partnered with 128GB of storage.
Also making an appearance is a Type-C port which is still a rarity for the budget segment and the 3.5mm headset jack which is still a necessity nowadays. Powering the Y9 Prime 2019 is the HiSilicon Kirin 710F processor with 4 cores clocked at 2.2 MHz and another 4 cores clocked at 1.7 MHz.
A 16MP, 8MP, and a 2MP camera completes the triple rear shooters on the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 with the f/1.8 main camera module and the ultra-wide-angle secondary shooter using the 6P design, a plastic array of six lenses, to help capture more details and lighting in images. The third sensor provides bokeh effects for portrait shots. Additional capabilities in the camera are highlighted in other features that include the Night mode and super slow-motion videos at 480 FPS.
The Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 is priced at P12,990.00. It has three color variants: Midnight Black, Sapphire Blue, and Emerald Green. All color variants will feature a 3D composite material that glimmers like glass but is shatter-resistant.
The smartphone will be available at all Huawei Experience Stores and partner retailers and pre-order period starts at July 5 to July 12 where consumers will be able to also get a premium Bluetooth speaker worth P1,790.00 as a freebie.
