Acer PH boosts commercial business with new Chromebook

After dominating the notebook market in the country for the last 10 years, Acer Philippines is now setting its sights on the commercial PC segment with its latest Chromebook model.

The Acer Chromebook CB713-1W has the advantages of the Chrome OS including fast boot times, ease of use, tough security, and a long battery life.

“With a fast boot time, you’ll start working quicker; the simplified interface makes it easy to learn; integrated malware protection stops viruses in their tracks; and finally an efficient use of power means you can work all day without your power adapter,” said Acer Philippines senior product manager for commercial Cristian Caoagas

The latest Chromebook also contains features that allow the laptop to update automatically and for free. It allows users to work online and offline, connecting users to offline apps like Gmail and Google Docs.

It also boasts a “one port, many uses” feature, as one connector is used for “ultra-quick” data transfer, video streaming, and battery charging.

“The reversible USB 3.1 Type-C connector is the same at both ends and on both sides, so it’s easy to attach. USB 3.1 is 10 times faster than USB 2.0,” Caoagas added.

The demand in the education sector has also bolstered Acer’s position by transforming the current Philippine education landscape to digital through its Acer Academy program.

Acer supplies Chromebooks to provide students access to world-class education at an affordable price. This forms part of the company’s commitment to help improve education through technology.

“For the commercial market, we particularly improved the features of our latest Chromebook with specifications that are designed for work and education,” said Acer Philippines sales and marketing director Sue Ong-Lim.
