Century Pacific adopts AI-powered solution from Blue Yonder for supply chain planning

Local food and beverage giant Century Pacific has partnered with US-headquartered technology firm Blue Yonder to implement its demand and supply planning system as part of the company’s digital transformation efforts.

The manufacturer, known for its marine, meat, milk, coconut, and plant-based brands, said the move is intended to strengthen its demand forecasting, inventory management, and supply planning processes amid a growing product portfolio and frequent supply chain disruptions.

Through Blue Yonder’s platform, Century Pacific said it expects to improve forecast accuracy, streamline planner collaboration, and support faster decision-making.

The system also includes scenario planning features that allow testing of different supply chain responses to external events such as natural disasters or logistical challenges.

“For Century Pacific, accurate forecasting and production planning are critical, especially since our products are needed not only in daily consumption but also during crises such as typhoons and earthquakes,” said Edwin Africa, executive vice president of Century Pacific.

“Over the years, we’ve expanded into more categories, which makes our supply chain more complex. Partnering with AI-driven solutions helps us simplify processes and ensure we deliver the right products at the right time to Filipino consumers,” he said.

Century Pacific chief financial officer Richard Manapat said the company needs tools to better manage production and distribution given its expanding categories and exposure to risks such as typhoons and earthquakes.

“We needed a solution that could help us make planning decisions more efficiently as we grow our business,” Manapat said.

Blue Yonder Asia Pacific president Antonio Boccalandro described the Philippines as a key market and said the partnership will help CNPF align supply and demand planning. He noted that the platform is designed to enable real-time adjustments and reduce inefficiencies in inventory placement.

“The Philippines presents a uniquely complex supply chain environment with over 7,000 islands, frequent typhoons, earthquakes, and congestion issues,” Boccalandro said.

“Our AI and machine learning platform is built to help companies like Century Pacific anticipate disruptions, adjust plans quickly, and keep essential goods moving. What we do is mission-critical — we take pride in supporting food manufacturers and retailers so they can continue serving communities even in times of crisis.”
