Smartphone brand realme has previewed its upcoming realme 16 Series 5G ahead of its scheduled launch in the Philippines on April 23, with the company emphasizing design changes and upgraded camera features.
The lineup includes the realme 16 Pro+ 5G, realme 16 Pro 5G, and the base realme 16 5G. The devices introduce what the company calls an “Urban Wild Design,” developed in collaboration with Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa.
According to the company, the Pro+ variant will come in a “Master Gold” finish, while the Pro model will be available in Pebble Grey and Orchid Purple. The base model adopts a more minimalist design and features a horizontal camera layout.
realme said the Pro+ model uses a bio-based silicone back panel derived from plant materials, designed to improve durability and resistance to wear.
The company is also highlighting camera upgrades across the series, particularly for the Pro models. The realme 16 Pro+ 5G is equipped with a 200-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization, along with a 50MP telephoto lens, an ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP front camera.
realme said the device also features what it described as the “industry’s first TÜV Rheinland-certified LumaColor Image Camera,” aimed at improving color accuracy, lighting balance, and skin tone rendering.
The Pro variant carries a similar 200MP main camera setup, while the base model uses a 50MP Sony IMX852 sensor.
“The realme 16 Series 5G will officially launch in the Philippines on April 23 at 5:30 PM via a livestream on the realme official Facebook channel,” the company said.
