Asurion Philippines has built its operations around a “culture of preparedness” as it expands its role in global electronics repair, manufacturing, and customer support services.
The company, which started in 2009 with a single facility, has grown into a six-location network serving markets across Asia-Pacific, the United States, and Europe.
Its Philippine operations combine business process outsourcing (BPO) services with electronics repair and manufacturing, a niche positioning that sets it apart from most local competitors.
Dindo Santos, transportation manager at Asurion Philippines, said the company’s approach centers on anticipating risks rather than reacting to them.
“There should be no surprises — you should always be prepared – even for the unexpected,” Santos said.
The strategy has led the company to adopt strict compliance measures and maintain a risk registry aligned with global standards, including certifications from the International Organization for Standardization, as well as programs such as the Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism and Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) accreditation.
Like other firms operating in global supply chains, Asurion Philippines faces regulatory complexities, particularly in cross-border shipping. These challenges have underscored the need for reliable logistics partners capable of navigating both technical and regulatory requirements.
The company imports raw materials and components, processes them at its facility in Calamba, Laguna, and exports finished products to clients abroad. Operations run 24/7, including weekends, to support global demand.
Asurion Philippines works closely with FedEx for its shipping requirements, with Santos citing the logistics provider’s capabilities as critical to maintaining operations.
“The dangerous goods capability, that’s the advantage of FedEx,” Santos said. “Along with that, the efficiency of the service and especially the 24/7 availability of customer support makes all the difference.”
He added that round-the-clock support is essential for a company handling high shipment volumes on tight schedules. “When a problem arises at midnight, it can’t wait until morning,” he said.
Beyond manufacturing and repair, Asurion Philippines is exploring expansion into additional services, including customer solutions and insurance-related offerings, as part of its growth strategy.
“That’s the goal, actually, we all want to improve,” Santos said. “If we can expand what we do, not only focusing on repair and manufacturing, but also insurance services or anything else we’re capable of.”
The company said its long-term strategy hinges on maintaining compliance, strengthening partnerships, and continuing to build capabilities to support both stability and expansion in a volatile global supply chain environment.
