The Canon Photomarathon returned on April 18 at the BGC Amphitheater after a seven-year hiatus, drawing more than 1,200 participants to a day-long photography and video competition.
This year’s edition carried the theme “Feel It,” challenging participants to produce images and videos that convey emotion. Organizers also introduced a Video Category, expanding the competition beyond still photography.
The event was open to all digital camera users and included separate categories for media and company employees.
The venue was set up as a creative space, with activity zones such as pet photography, cosplay, and bridal portrait setups under the Canon Creator Park.
Workshops on topics including wildlife photography and content creation were also held, alongside product demonstrations and on-site photo printing.
“This event was special not just for the competition, but because it brought together diverse creators all pursuing the same passion: capturing moments that matter,” said Anuj Aggarwal, president and CEO of Canon Marketing Philippines.
“Canon Photomarathon 2026 reminded us that creativity flourishes when people have the space and tools to explore together.”

Civil engineer Von Cedrick Cunanan emerged as one of the winners, with a photograph depicting a jeepney driver resting inside his vehicle during midday heat.
“I wanted to capture what he’s feeling — the heat, the tiredness, the rising gas prices. I aimed for the judges to feel something when they saw it,” Cunanan said.
Canon Marketing Philippines said it will release the winning entries and highlights from the event through its official channels in the coming weeks.
