Ford Philippines said it sold 4,405 units of the Territory Hybrid during the vehicle’s first 12 months in the local market, driven by growing demand for vehicles that do not require external charging.
The automaker launched the hybrid SUV in the Philippines in August 2025, making the country the first market within Ford’s International Markets Group to receive the model.
Sales reached 2,760 units from January to June 2026, making the Territory Hybrid the country’s best-selling small utility hybrid vehicle during the period, according to data from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI).
The model surpassed 1,000 customers slightly more than three months after its launch, Ford said.
“The success of the Territory Hybrid isn’t measured solely by sales, but by the growing community of owners who make it part of their daily commute,” said Pedro Simoes, managing director of Ford Philippines. “We celebrate these milestones with our customers and we thank them for their trust and support.”
Ford offers the Territory Hybrid in Titanium X and Trend variants, with prices starting at P1.399 million.
Its powertrain combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with an electric motor and a two-speed dedicated hybrid transmission. Ford claims fuel economy of up to 19.6 kilometers per liter.
Unlike plug-in hybrid and fully electric vehicles, the Territory Hybrid does not require an external charger. Its battery is replenished through regenerative braking.
Fitness coach and content creator Zach Peña said the vehicle was his first hybrid.
“I wasn’t sure what to expect from my first hybrid, but after living with it, I honestly don’t see myself going back. The quiet drive immediately stood out, but what really surprised me was how much I saved on fuel without sacrificing performance. It’s practical enough for daily commutes, spacious enough for family trips, and simply makes every drive feel effortless.”
Environmentalist and mental health advocate Cat Triviño said the hybrid setup offered an alternative when charging infrastructure remained a concern.
“I’ve always wanted to reduce my environmental impact, but a fully electric vehicle wasn’t yet practical for my lifestyle. The Territory Hybrid gave me the best of both worlds with better fuel efficiency and lower emissions, including the added convenience of not having to worry about charging infrastructure to keep me on the road.”
