Aurora Gaming wins MPL PH Season 18 as Infinix backs fan tournament

Aurora Gaming won the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 18 championship, while its fan community, Auroras, also claimed the title in Fansiklaban, a fan tournament powered by Infinix.

Aurora Gaming, which is sponsored by Infinix, secured the domestic league title after fighting through the lower bracket and winning successive elimination matches to reach the Grand Finals.

The victory completed the team’s collection of major titles after its previous triumph at the M7 World Championship. Aurora is now preparing for M8 in Turkey, where it aims to defend the Philippines’ standing in international MLBB competition.

The Season 18 playoffs also featured Fansiklaban, which gave fans a chance to compete in their own tournament. The simultaneous victories of Aurora Gaming and Auroras gave the team and its supporters separate championships during the same season.

Jane Dela Cruz, esports head of marketing for the Philippines at Moonton Games, said the league’s reach extends beyond professional matches.

“MPL Philippines has always been more than the competition on the battlefield. It is a platform where players, fans, brands, and the wider gaming community come together to celebrate the culture and passion that make Philippine MLBB esports one of the strongest in the world,” said Dela Cruz.

“Partnerships like Infinix allow us to extend that experience beyond the matches, creating more meaningful ways for fans to engage with the league and with the technology that is shaping the next generation of gamers.”

Infinix also used the playoffs to showcase its gaming devices and accessories. The Infinix GT 50 Pro served as the official tournament phone for Season 18, while the company’s on-ground booth featured the GT Verse, GT NX Controller, GT NX Station, and XEnergy Series.

The GT Verse brought together the GT 50 Pro smartphone, GT Watch 5 Pro, and GT Buds 5. The GT NX Controller and GT NX Station were presented as accessories for players seeking additional control options and the ability to use a compatible external display.

The company also recognized media and other contributors to the esports community through the Alamat Awards, with recipients receiving an Infinix GT Watch 5 Pro alongside their respective awards.

Infinix’s participation included the XEnergy Series, which supported Fansiklaban and formed part of its broader event activities.

The MPL PH Season 18 Grand Finals drew more than 6,000 spectators, according to the league, while Esports Charts recorded 1.5 million peak online views.
