Enterprise automation firm Workato has set up a Philippine subsidiary as part of its expansion in Southeast Asia, positioning the country as both a growth market and an operations hub supporting global customers.
The company said the move underscores its focus on serving local enterprises pursuing artificial intelligence (AI)-driven transformation, while also leveraging the Philippines as a base for customer success, support, and business operations.
Workato identified the Philippines as one of the faster-growing digital economies in the region, with increasing technology investments across sectors such as financial services, business process outsourcing, retail, and government.
To lead its local operations, Workato appointed Tyrone Borromeo as managing director. He previously served as the firm’s vice president for global solutions consulting and held leadership roles at MuleSoft and Salesforce.
Borromeo said demand for AI adoption among Philippine enterprises continues to rise.
“The appetite for AI-driven transformation is real, and the urgency to get it right has never been higher. Workato’s commitment here runs deep. This country is home not only to the enterprises we serve but also to the global customer success, support, and business functions that power Workato worldwide,” he said.
Workato has established offices in Makati and Alabang and is investing in local go-to-market operations. The company plans to expand its Philippine workforce by 20% to 30% by the end of 2026, with hiring focused on product support and customer success roles.
It also intends to pursue a partner-led strategy, working with local systems integrators and technology partners to meet growing demand for enterprise modernization and AI deployment.
