PLDT reported gross service revenues of P54.9 billion in the first quarter of 2026, as growth in enterprise ICT, data center, and digital banking businesses helped offset operational challenges affecting its broadband segment.
The telecom company said enterprise revenues reached P12.4 billion during the quarter, with its corporate data and ICT business contributing P9.3 billion.
PLDT said demand for ICT and digital infrastructure services continued to grow, with ICT revenues rising 17% year-on-year. Managed IT services increased 79%, while data services, including artificial intelligence-related offerings, grew 31%.
Its data center business under Vitro Data Center posted a 10% increase as the company expanded capacity for enterprise and hyperscale workloads.
Meanwhile, ePLDT recorded a 34% increase in the use of its messaging and load disbursement platforms, while wireless unit Smart Communications saw enterprise-related growth driven by higher A2P SMS traffic and prepaid load top-ups.
PLDT also cited contributions from digital banking platform Maya, which helped boost core income. Maya reported P76 billion in deposits and a P33 billion loan balance as of March 2026.
The company said its EBITDA improved through cost management measures, while net financing costs remained steady following renegotiations of interest rates.
However, PLDT acknowledged that its fiber broadband business faced headwinds during the quarter due to a temporary migration of its Home system, which affected customer activations and average revenue per user. The company said order levels have since returned to pre-migration levels.
PLDT also cited external pressures related to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, which affected consumer wallet spending during the period.
Beyond telecommunications, the company said it continued sustainability-related initiatives, including renewable energy projects for cell sites and its Digital Farmers Program. PLDT was also re-elected to the Board of Trustees of the local network of the United Nations Global Compact for 2026 to 2027.
