Ahead of its July 16 launch, “Ragnarok: The New World” brought four veteran members of the Ragnarok community to its Shanghai studio to question the game’s developers in a livestream built around player concerns.
The invited gamers were Thailand-based creators Junqko and Shipdont, and Philippine personalities Myrtle Sarrosa and Nikkinikki.
During the livestream, viewers submitted questions and comments about the game, with topics ranging from class balance and the trading system to future content updates.
According to the game team, the questions were used to directly challenge the developers during the studio visit, turning what could have been a routine promotional event into a community-facing discussion on the game’s direction.
During the session, the invited players said they initially expected a standard studio tour, but found themselves in lengthy discussions with a development team made up of longtime Ragnarok players.
Asked about the vision behind the project, the team said it was “driven by a shared obsession to build a true next-generation, top-tier RO experience,” adding that instead of waiting for someone else to make it, “they had to take matters into their own hands.”
The livestream also previewed some of the game’s planned features, including large-scale tournaments that are part of its long-term roadmap.
The invited players also took part in a brainstorming session with the developers and were given an early hands-on look at “Druid”, a new class that will debut with the Southeast Asian launch.
