Kia Philippines has launched the EV3 in the local market, expanding its electric vehicle lineup with a compact SUV offering up to 511 kilometers of driving range and support for DC fast charging.
Named the 2025 World Car of the Year, the EV3 carries design and technology elements from the larger EV5 and EV9 but packages them in a smaller vehicle intended primarily for urban use.
The EV3 is powered by a front-mounted Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor that produces 204 PS and 283 Nm of torque. Its 58.3-kWh lithium-ion battery provides a claimed range of up to 511 kilometers under the NEDC testing cycle.
Charging the battery from 10% to 80% takes about five hours and 20 minutes using an 11-kW AC charger. A 350-kW DC fast charger can complete the same charge in approximately 29 minutes.
Inside, the EV3 features Kia’s 30-inch Triple Panoramic Display, which integrates the digital instrument cluster, infotainment screen, and a 5.3-inch climate-control display.
Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with two wireless charging pads, five USB-C ports, and a six-speaker audio system.
The cabin also includes leather upholstery, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
A sliding center-console tray can function as a workspace or additional storage area. The rear seats fold in a 60:40 configuration to provide more cargo capacity.
The EV3 is equipped with Kia’s DriveWise driver-assistance package, including Advanced Smart Cruise Control, Forward Collision Avoidance with Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Following Assist, Blindspot Safety Warning, and Rear Cross Traffic Safety.
Other safety equipment includes seven airbags, Electronic Stability Control, Hill-Start Assist, front and rear parking sensors, and a rear-view camera.
Exterior features include Kia’s Digital Tiger Face, LED headlights, flush door handles, a rear spoiler, 17-inch alloy wheels, and roof rails. The model has also received the Red Dot “Best of the Best” and iF Design awards.
The Kia EV3 is priced at P1.898 million, inclusive of a wall charger. An introductory price of P1.868 million, together with five years of free preventive maintenance service, is available until Oct. 31.
The vehicle comes with a five-year or 160,000-kilometer warranty and an eight-year or 160,000-kilometer warranty for the high-voltage battery.
Reservations opened on Sept. 21, while customer deliveries are scheduled to begin on Oct. 1.
