Colored printers that run on the Android OS, an interactive whiteboard with a videoconferencing function, and a projector that can show images less than a foot away from the wall. These were the products launched by Ricoh Philippines on July 27, touting them as “total office productivity solutions.”
Besides increasing productivity, these gadgets can also reduce travel time, according to Eric E. Sulit, president and CEO of Ricoh Philippines.
?We are highlighting the technologies that will help empower digital workplaces,? Sulit said, referring to the company?s new multi-function printers, the MPC4504exSP and the MPC2004EXSP.
Since both run on the intuitive Android OS, users can swipe, pinch, and flick on the devices? control screens, Sulit explained.
The two printers come equipped with a tablet-like touch screen called the Smart Operation Panel (SOP). The panel is designed to provide users seamless integration of multiple processes and customized shortcuts, saving them from repeating manual tasks when printing.
Using familiar hand gestures, they can easily produce multiple copies, print book covers, and mask confidential copies.
The multi-function printers can also be accessed using cloud connectivity, giving users the ability to view documents remotely and share information effectively with their devices connected to the printers.
Offering 1200×1200 dots per inch density, the printer can print anywhere from 30 to 60 pages per minute (PPM).
Interactive whiteboard, short throw projector
During the event, Sulit and other company executives also unveiled its Interactive Whiteboard (IWB-D6510).
Just like any other whiteboard, it displays content but also allows for collaboration with connected users in other locations.
It can also perform video-conferencing using an optional camera and helps people communicate or collaborate or have meetings even across different locations. “This helps lower travel costs and makes communication and meetings much quicker,” Sulit said.
Meanwhile, its PJ-WX4152N Ultra Short Throw Projector can show crisp and sharp images and video with 1280×800 WXGA format resolution even if it?s placed as close as 4.6 inches from the surface.
The projector enables up to four different devices to show information together onto a single screen. It also has a Smart Presenter app that allows iPad users to view the presentation from remote locations.
?Users can pair (the projector) with Ricoh’s Business Projection System to share the same presentation in up to four different locations,? the company said.
All four products are currently being showcased at their Manila showroom, adding they have several flexible financing plans to help them acquire the products.
