The Joint Foreign Chambers of the Philippines, US-ASEAN Business Council, IT & Business Process Association of the Philippines, Asia Cloud Computing Association, and Asia Internet Coalition also cited the government’s efforts to champion the free-flow of data in the region.
As of 2022, there are a total of 1,582 IT-BPO industry activities registered in PEZA which generated a total of P337.593 billion investments, and 1,095,622 direct jobs.
The industry groups-- IBPAP, SEIPI, and CONWEP-- said a solution has been promised by the end of the month which also coincides with the end of the first taxable quarter.

IBPAP attributed the upsurge to three factors: (1) pent-up demand from global customers, (2) higher confidence in work-from-home (WFH) setups by clients in contact centers and business process services, and (3) growth in emerging sub-segments like e-commerce, fintech, healthcare, and technology.
IBPAP president and CEO Jack Madrid said that while the group supports the need to fully reopen the economy, BPO employees have an overwhelming preference for a hybrid work arrangement.
