Kia Philippines has launched the Kia EV5, an all-electric compact SUV, at the Manila International Auto Show 2026, expanding the brand’s electric vehicle lineup in the country.
The local distributor, a subsidiary of ACMobility, said the new model is aimed at Filipino motorists looking to shift to electric mobility while retaining the practicality of a compact SUV.
The EV5 features the brand’s “Opposites United” design language, highlighted by the Digital Tiger Nose grille and Star Map LED lighting signature. The vehicle also comes with 18-inch alloy wheels and an optional sunroof.
Inside, the EV includes a dual-screen layout consisting of a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment display. The system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
The SUV also offers vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability through a 250-volt outlet that can power external devices. Other cabin features include automatic climate control, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and upholstery options in premium cloth or cloth-leather combinations.
Safety technologies are led by the Kia Drive Wise suite of advanced driver assistance systems, which include Lane Keep Assist, Forward Collision Avoidance, and a Surround View Monitor. The EV5 also carries a five-star safety rating from the Australasian New Car Assessment Program.
Built on an electric vehicle platform, the EV5 delivers 217 PS and 310 Nm of torque. It is offered in two variants: the GL version with a 64.2 kWh battery and a range of up to 400 kilometers, and the GLS variant with an 88.1 kWh battery capable of up to 550 kilometers of range.
To support EV adoption, ACMobility said buyers will receive a home charging package that includes a home charger with a one-year warranty, a P25,000 subsidy for standard home installation, and P2,000 in charging credits for use at ACMobility charging stations.
The EV5 GL is priced starting at P2,298,000, while the GLS variant is priced at P2,698,000. Both variants are backed by an eight-year or 160,000-kilometer warranty.
