TCL highlights Mini LED, AI-powered TVs in PH product push

Consumer electronics brand TCL has unveiled a range of new television products and display technologies in the Philippines, headlined by its SQD Mini LED platform and the A400 Series lifestyle TVs.

The company recently showcased its latest products during a joint event with appliance retailer Ansons, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary.

The event also highlighted more than two decades of partnership between the two firms and featured TCL’s new SQD Mini LED television lineup.

TCL said its latest SQD Mini LED platform combines three display technologies — Precise Dimming, Super QLED, and Ultra Color Filter — aimed at improving contrast, color accuracy, brightness, and overall picture quality.

The company said the platform is designed to deliver clearer images, richer colors, and a more immersive viewing experience across sports, gaming, and movie content.

According to TCL, the technology is backed by its display manufacturing arm TCL CSOT and forms part of the company’s broader strategy of translating display research and development into consumer products.

The company cited data from market research firm Omdia showing TCL ranked first globally in shipment market share for TVs measuring 75 inches and above, Mini LED TVs, and Google TV devices in 2025.

At the Ansons event, TCL also presented its new SQD Mini LED television models, including a product the company said was the first television to receive a top TÜV Perceptual Color Volume rating.

The televisions were displayed in an interactive experience zone where visitors were able to test the new screens’ brightness, contrast, and color capabilities.

“It is a privilege to partner with Ansons once more. We haven’t just witnessed each other’s milestones; we have been consistently present for every breakthrough, proving that our brands are truly moving forward as one in bringing smarter, more meaningful living experiences to households across the country,” said TCL Philippines CEO Peter Chen.

Alongside its Mini LED offerings, TCL introduced the A400 Series, a new line of lifestyle televisions aimed at consumers looking for a television that doubles as a decorative element within the home.

The lineup consists of the A400M and A400 Pro models, both featuring ultra-slim designs, QD-Mini LED technology, art display modes, and ONKYO audio systems.

The A400 Pro comes with an anti-reflection matte HVA panel and a wooden frame, while the A400M uses a traditional HVA panel with a black frame.

Both models can display digital artwork when not being used as televisions and include access to thousands of AI-generated art images.

The A400 Series is powered by TCL’s TSR AiPQ processor, which uses artificial intelligence to optimize picture quality and content presentation. TCL said the televisions also incorporate AI-driven image, sound, and content-generation capabilities.

“Once again, TCL elevates home entertainment and viewing pleasure with the introduction of the A400 Series. Every detail is meticulously engineered to enhance your home display while delivering an indulgent sensory experience,” said Maxi Chen, TCL senior product manager.

The company said the A400M will be sold exclusively through Abenson, while the A400 Pro will be available exclusively at SM Appliance stores.
