PH software group bares new officers

The Philippine Software Industry Association (PSIA) has announced the election its new set of officers for 2013.

The group is now headed by Noya Terrado of Headstrong as president,
Joey Gurango of Gurango Software as vice president; Ito Gruet of Computer Professionals Inc. as corporate secretary; and Beng Coronel of Pointwest Technologies as treasurer.

Coronel was also named Capability Development Committee chair, while Terrado as Marketing Committee chair. Gurango was likewise selected as head of Product Development SIG (special interest group).

Other officers are: Information & Research Committee chair — Arup Maity (BlastAsia); Membership and Ethics Committee chair — Alvin Gendrano (Microsoft); Japan Market Group chair — Tae Abe-Abion (SpiceWorx Consultancy); Technology Council chair — Calen Legaspi (Orange & Bronze Software Labs); Government Relations Committee chair — Bettina Quimson (Navigator Systems); and Technology for Education and Development (TED) Special Committee chair — Bettina Quimson (Navigator Systems).

The trade organization is eyeing to achieve $3 billion in industry revenues by 2016.
