Gamecon Philippines will hold its first gaming convention on July 8-9, 2017 at the Megatrade Hall 2 of SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City. More than 1,000 guests are expected to grace the two-day conference.
“We want Gamecon Philippines to be a platform where families of all ages can come together and experience different types of games,” said Elaine Cedillo, the co-founder of Redwizard Events Management and the lead project head. “We want us to be a platform where different gaming communities share their passion.”
Board games, table top, and card games will be scattered around the halls of Megatrade to invite gamers to sit back and enjoy with their fellow gamers. The convention is also opening a Game Art Competition to all students and professionals who create artworks using traditional or digital medium. Winners will get cash and a Huion tablet.
Cosplay competition will award P10,000 cash and gift items to the best costume players.
Also, Gamecon Philippines expects more than 100 participants in their two-day tournament of Mobile Legends ? a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) designed for mobile phones where two opposing teams fight to destroy the enemy?s base while defending their own.
One of the most anticipated activities is the Game Development Workshop happening on July 7, a day earlier from the main event. The workshop will feature some of the country’s top game designers and producers, and is in partnership with the Game Developers Association of the Philippines (GDAP), Philrobitcs, Ellinov, Thinklab , Sparklab Innovation Center and supported by iAcademy as one of the school partners.
