Converge opens AI-ready data center in Angeles City

Fiber broadband provider Converge ICT Solutions has inaugurated its new Angeles Data Center, marking a key expansion of its infrastructure aimed at supporting cloud services, artificial intelligence workloads, and enterprise demand.

The facility, located in Pampanga, was formally unveiled alongside national and local officials, including First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos and Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) secretary Henry Aguda.

Converge said the newly completed data center is designed to be scalable and “AI-ready,” with an initial capacity of 12 megawatts and built-in redundancy to ensure continuous operations.

It is also configured to meet data residency requirements and support high-performance computing, including applications in artificial intelligence and machine learning.

The Angeles facility will host the company’s planned “Converge Cloud,” a sovereign cloud platform intended to provide government agencies and enterprises with locally hosted data storage and processing capabilities.

Company officials positioned the data center as part of a broader infrastructure buildout that includes fiber networks, subsea cables, and other data center assets nationwide.

“Amid the ongoing digital revolution, our capabilities must keep pace with emerging technologies. We have focused on building world-class, future-ready facilities so we can become the country’s leading provider of digital services,” said Converge CEO Dennis Uy

“With this advanced infrastructure, Converge is now ready to power the digital journeys of every Filipino and make full use of the latest innovations to drive the nation forward.”

The Angeles Data Center is the latest addition to Converge’s growing portfolio of facilities, complementing existing sites in Clark and Pasig, as well as a newly announced data center in Caloocan.

The company said the expansion is meant to address rising demand from enterprises and government agencies for cloud services, as well as the increasing need for local data hosting driven by digital transformation initiatives.

Converge added that the facility is expected to transition to renewable energy, in line with its other data centers, as part of efforts to improve sustainability while scaling capacity.
