Global technology company TCL highlighted its role in supporting broadcast coverage and athlete experiences during the recently concluded Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games, where it served as a Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner.
During the event, TCL supplied more than 330 TV screens and 300 commercial display units at the International Broadcast Center (IBC), allowing media organizations to monitor competitions and deliver coverage to global audiences.
The company also provided smart home appliances and display systems inside Olympic Villages, helping support the so-called “Athlete Moment,” which enabled athletes to connect with family members after competitions.
TCL said it also promoted its technology through public installations in Milan, including a “Wishes for Greatness” Winter Wonderland at Piazza del Duomo and TCL Edelweiss Land near Milan’s central train station.
The exhibit area, covering more than 500 square meters, showcased TCL products such as Mini-LED televisions and RayNeo AR smart glasses and attracted over 91,000 visitors during the Games.
Reflecting on the partnership, Li Dongsheng, founder and chairman of TCL, said the Olympics provided a platform to highlight how technology can support storytelling in sports.
“Since our founding in 1981, TCL’s focus has been to create technology designed to improve lives. As we mark our first year as a Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner, we have been proud to use that expertise to empower the Olympic Games for audiences across the world. The real impact of innovation is in helping to put human stories front and center on one of the biggest stages in sport.”
Kirsty Coventry, president of the International Olympic Committee, also cited the role of technology in enhancing the Games.
“The Olympic Games are becoming more connected, more digital, more global. TCL technology is transforming how the Olympic Games are experienced, making every moment immersive and emotional. Our partnership is based on shared values — innovation with purpose, always inspiring greatness.”
Following the Olympic Winter Games, TCL said it will continue its involvement in the Paralympic Winter Games, scheduled from March 6 to 15, where athletes including Brazilian para cross-country skier Cristian Ribera and wheelchair racer-skier Aline Rocha will compete as part of Team TCL.
The company became a Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner in the home audiovisual equipment and home appliances category and said it plans to continue developing technologies aimed at improving how audiences watch major sporting events.
