Lazada Philippines has launched a fundraising campaign through its LazadaForGood platform to support relief and recovery efforts for communities affected by the recent earthquake in Mindanao.
The e-commerce firm said donations made through the platform will go directly to humanitarian organizations conducting relief operations in affected areas.
Partner organizations include the Philippine Red Cross, GMA Kapuso Foundation, ABS-CBN Foundation, HERO Foundation, UNICEF Philippines, Caritas Manila, and Habitat for Humanity Philippines.
“The needs of affected communities remain significant, and recovery will take time. We encourage our customers, partners, and the wider public to support trusted organizations through LazadaForGood. Every contribution can help deliver essential assistance to families affected by the earthquake and support their journey toward recovery and rebuilding,” said Carlos Barrera, chief executive officer of Lazada Philippines.
According to Lazada, users can access the LazadaForGood page through the Lazada app and make donations through a digital payment process.
The company said the initiative is part of its social impact program, which connects customers and businesses with organizations involved in humanitarian and community-development efforts.
LazadaForGood was launched in 2019 and has been used for various fundraising campaigns, including disaster response and community support projects.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, advocacy groups on the platform raised more than P15 million for response efforts, according to the company.
