GAC Motor has launched the GS4 Max HEV in the Philippines, expanding its local sport utility vehicle lineup with a hybrid model.
The five-seater SUV is available at an introductory price of P1.218 million, reflecting an P80,000 discount, for reservations made until Sept. 30, 2026.
The GS4 Max uses a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle hybrid engine, a dual-motor system, a two-speed dedicated hybrid transmission, and a 2.1-kWh nickel cobalt manganese battery.
The powertrain produces a combined output of 232 horsepower or 173 kilowatts, while the electric motor delivers up to 300 Newton-meters of torque.
GAC claims the SUV can travel up to 1,250 kilometers on a full tank. Its hybrid system switches among electric, hybrid, direct engine drive, and energy recuperation modes depending on driving conditions.

The vehicle has a 2,750-millimeter wheelbase and measures 1,901 millimeters wide. Its second-row seats can be folded flat to expand cargo capacity.
Inside, the GS4 Max comes with a 10.1-inch touchscreen supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a seven-inch digital instrument cluster, a panoramic glass roof, rear air-conditioning vents, and a 50-watt wireless phone charger with a cooling fan.
Its Level 2 driver-assistance package includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, traffic jam assist, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, integrated cruise assist, and a surround-view camera.
The SUV is equipped with front, front-side, second-row side, and curtain airbags. It also uses high-strength and ultra-high-strength steel in key sections of its body structure, according to GAC.
The GS4 Max is offered in Planet Silver, Hoary Grey, and Crystal White, all paired with a black interior.
GAC provides a five-year or 150,000-kilometer basic warranty, whichever comes first. The battery, electric motor, and motor control unit are covered for eight years or 150,000 kilometers.
