Salesforce, Anthropic unveil Claudeforce AI integration

Salesforce and Anthropic have expanded their partnership with the launch of Claudeforce, an integration that connects Anthropic’s Claude artificial intelligence models with Salesforce data, business rules, workflows, and applications.

The partnership is initially introducing Salesforce in Claude, a plugin with 37 prebuilt sales functions. These include preparing for meetings, reviewing deal health, assessing pipelines, updating sales records, and acting on live revenue data without leaving Claude.

Salesforce said the plugin can draw information from Salesforce, Slack, and other services connected to Claude to generate dashboards showing a seller’s accounts, pipeline, and other business data.

Actions initiated through Claude will be routed through Salesforce so that existing permissions and business rules continue to apply. Administrators will be able to connect the plugin centrally instead of configuring access separately for each user.

“We’re bringing together the world’s #1 AI and #1 CRM — the best of both worlds. Today, we’re launching Claudeforce, running directly on top of Salesforce via our new AIforce UI harness, Headless 360, Data 360, Tableau, and Slack. Here, the UI is the AI — allowing you to build custom apps dynamically and answer any enterprise question,” Salesforce chair and CEO Marc Benioff said.

“Probabilistic intelligence alone doesn’t run a company, and deterministic systems don’t reason. By fusing Claude’s extraordinary reasoning with the trusted data, workflows, and governance every enterprise runs on, we’re delivering a dynamic interface that thinks, reasons, and acts. This is how every business will run.”

Salesforce in Claude is supported by AIforce, which exposes Salesforce data and workflows to AI agents through Model Context Protocol servers, application programming interfaces, and command-line tools.

The partnership also places Claude more broadly inside Salesforce products. Claude is available as a reasoning model in Agentforce and is used by Agentforce Vibes, Agentforce Coworker, and Agent Builder.

Salesforce said Claude can be deployed through Amazon Bedrock within its Trust Boundary, an arrangement intended for organizations that need to keep their data and AI workloads within controlled environments.

“We believe frontier intelligence should be safe, trusted, and deeply capable, which is why the world’s leading businesses turn to Claude for their most important work,” Anthropic CEO and co-founder Dario Amodei said.

“Salesforce in Claude brings this same frontier intelligence into the systems where much of the world’s commercial activity happens. Through this partnership, companies can point Claude at the customer information and business context that they’ve been building in Salesforce for decades, and use it actually to run and grow their businesses.”

The companies are also extending the integration to Slack. Claude will serve as the default model for Slack and will support Slackbot, Claude Tag, and Slack Code. Users will be able to analyze information in Slack and initiate actions in Salesforce from the collaboration platform.

Salesforce and Anthropic are adopting each other’s products internally. Salesforce has designated Anthropic as a preferred AI provider and plans to make Claude Code and Claude Enterprise available to its developers and knowledge workers.

Anthropic, meanwhile, uses Salesforce as its preferred customer relationship management platform and Slack as its internal collaboration service.

Salesforce claimed that its internal use of Claude-powered Slackbot was generating the equivalent of 8.1 million hours in annualized productivity gains. The company did not provide details on how the figure was calculated.

Salesforce in Claude is available to selected pilot customers. An open beta is scheduled for September 2026, while additional prebuilt functions are expected to begin rolling out in the third quarter.
