BPI Wealth is putting digital investing and app-based retirement planning at the center of its Wealth Wellness Month this October, highlighting how Filipinos can use online platforms to access investment products and manage their long-term finances.
Now in its third year, the month-long initiative will feature financial education activities, including a webinar demonstrating how investors can open and manage Personal Equity and Retirement Accounts (PERA) through BPI Wealth’s e-Invest platform and the BPI mobile app.
The session, titled “Paano Ba Magka-PERA? A Simple Guide to Being Retirement Ready,” will feature content creator and actor Macoy Dubs and explain how individuals can use digital investment channels to prepare for retirement.
The focus on digital investing comes as financial institutions increasingly use mobile applications and online platforms to make investment products accessible to a broader segment of the population.
BPI Wealth said this year’s program, carrying the theme “Navigate the New,” will also address the challenges facing investors amid faster access to financial information, changing market conditions, and the growing availability of different asset classes.
Aside from retirement planning, the company will conduct activities covering investment fundamentals, estate planning, employee benefits, and international markets.
One of these is “FinQuest: The Final Showdown,” a financial education competition aimed at students preparing to enter the workforce.
The event will feature creative strategist Kia Abrera discussing how young professionals can navigate uncertainty, alongside introductory discussions on financial markets and investing.
Another session, “Beyond Wealth: Trusts, Reimagined,” will feature BPI chief economist Jun Neri and BPI Wealth’s Atty. Gail Totanes discussing the use of trusts in protecting, managing, and transferring wealth across generations.
The program will also include “Building Better Futures: Retirement in the Age of Longevity,” featuring Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas deputy governor Berna Romulo-Puyat and global board director Su Yen Wong. The discussion will examine the implications of longer life expectancy for retirement planning and employee benefits.
The activities will conclude with the “Wealth Summit: The Modern Investor’s Map to Global Investing,” featuring behavioral finance expert and author Dr. Daniel Crosby and BPI Wealth chief investment officer Luis Antonio Zialcita.
The summit will discuss opportunities in international markets as investors explore ways to diversify their portfolios beyond domestic assets.
BPI Wealth is also offering an investment promotion under which clients who invest at least P5,000 in participating BPI investment funds from Oct. 1 to 25 can earn entries for a chance to win cash prizes of up to P100,000.
BPI Wealth president and CEO Maria Theresa Marcial said the initiative seeks to help investors understand the risks and opportunities presented by changes in the financial landscape.
“Change creates both uncertainty and opportunity. Navigate the New is our way of helping Filipinos make sense of both,” Marcial said.
She added that the program covers financial decisions across different life stages, from starting an investment portfolio and preparing for retirement to preserving family wealth and accessing global investment opportunities.
