The latest report from mobile metrics firm Opensignal has shown that Smart Communications is still the country’s fastest operator although third telco player is making significant gains.
Opensignal said the analysis indicates that so far DITO’s entry into the Philippine mobile market is evolutionary, not revolutionary, for mobile experience because DITO’s scores were mostly similar to — or below — the overall scores of all operators, with the exception of Upload Speed Experience in both Central Metro Cebu and Metro Manila.
Mobile metrics firm Opensignal has reported that its users have seen significant improvements in all five Philippine regions between Q4 2018 and Q3 2020 for Mobile Video Experience, Download Speed Experience, Latency Experience and 4G Availability.
“Video Experience” in the Philippines has improved along with the increasing popularity of video streaming among Filipinos, according to the latest analysis by telecom analytics firms OpenSignal.
Due to the lockdown, Filipino mobile users are spending more time in locations where the network infrastructure does not normally support such large numbers of users.
