PhilWeb Corp. has appointed Lance Y. Gokongwei as chairman of its board of directors following the departure of Crisanto Roy B. Alcid from his posts as chairman and chief executive officer.
The gambling technology company said its board approved Gokongwei’s appointment effective Aug. 27, 2026. He will serve as chairman for the remainder of the current term.
Gokongwei was already a member of PhilWeb’s board before his appointment as chairman.
Alcid, meanwhile, relinquished both his chairman and CEO positions but will remain a director of the company.
PhilWeb did not identify Alcid’s replacement as CEO in the announcement.
PhilWeb provides gambling technology and services to electronic gambling outlets in the Philippines.
